Richard "Dick" S. Salley, 83, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Javon Bea Hospital-Riverside. Dick was born February 17, 1938 in Boone County, IL, the son ofStuartand Marjorie (Greenlee) Salley. Dick worked alongside his father for many years on thefamily dairy farm. He was a member of the Beaver Valley Grange and former member of the Caledonia Trailblazers 4-H Club. Dickloved country music,western movies, the Chicago Cubs and Bears, and enjoyedcompeting in numerousSpecialOlympic athletic events. Hishumorous and cheerful personalitywill be missed by all.

Dickwill be dearlymissed by his siblings,Ronald (Sharon) Salley, Gordon (Cheryl) Salley, Jean (Salley) Johnson, Daniel Salley, andnumerous nieces and nephews andhisextended family at Milestone, Inc. Hewaspreceded in death by his parents,sister-in-law, Jill Salley and brother-in-law, Pat Johnson.

Special thanks to all the staff and friends at Milestone that made the last 32 years of Dick's lifeenjoyable.

The visitation forDickwill be held Thursday, October 14, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. to10:45a.m. at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at thesame location. Burialwill bein Scottish Argyle Cemeteryimmediately following the services.
