Richard W. "Rich" Nelson, 73 of Belvidere, IL passed away after a sudden illness on January 11, 2021 in his home. He was born on February 3, 1947 in Belvidere, IL to Robert and Hazel (Lapp) Nelson. Rich married his loving wife of 50 years, Gail Lee, in 1970 in Belvidere, IL. He worked as an over the road truck driver for Belvedere Company for over 35 years. Rich loved riding Harley's and looking at old trucks. He was the ultimate family handyman; he could fix anything and everything. Rich especially loved his daughters and loved spending time with them. He will be missed by all those who knew him.

Rich will be dearly missed by his wife, Gail; daughters, Heather and Wendy Nelson; sister, Chris (Richard) Bjork; brother-in-law, Gary Lee; niece, Kerrie Floyd; nephew, Brian Lee; and niece, Andrea Leseberg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Hazel and his brother, Rodney Nelson.
