Richard E. Lofton, Sr. 86, of Belvidere, died Thursday, January 31, 2008 in Northwoods Health Care Center following a short illness. Born June 30, 1921 in Petersburg, Illinois, the son of Ira and Esther Lofton. He married Lourdes Bontuyan in Carol Stream, Ill. on December 4, 1998. He was employed as an Ironworker. He is a veteran of WWII serving in the Navy. Member of St. James Catholic Church and the Iron Workers Union. In his spare time he enjoyed listening to music. He is survived by his wife, Lourdes; five children, Richard, Jr.; Wayne, Sr.; Gary; Linda and Sandra; three step-children, Cora Fay; Jonathan and Karen, and many grandchildren.
