Richard P. "Dick" Miedema, 54, of St. Charles, Illinois, died Wednesday, July 26, 2006 in Biltmore Nursing Home following a courageous battle with cancer. Born November 27, 1951 in Evanston, Illinois, the son of William and Dorothy (Pearson) Miedema. He has resided in Belvidere for the past month, coming here from St. Charles. He was employed as Auto Detailer for Tri-City Auto Body in St. Charles. He enjoyed fishing and walking in his spare time. He also loved eating, especially Pumkin pie and Thanksgiving stuffing. "Dick" graduated from Lake Park High School, Roselle, Ill. He is survived by his Mother, Dorothy Perkins, Belvidere, Ill.; Daughter, Janel (Mike) Gomez, Tempe, Az.; Son, Richard Miedema, II, Mt. Vernon, Ill.; five siblings, William Guy Miedema; Gregory Todd Miedema; Karen Joy Schultz; Howard Kent Miedema; Nancy Janine Miedema; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his Father on December 8, 1993.
