Obituary

On Saturday, October 3, 2020, Rebekah (Dennis) Parker, loving wife and mother of three, step mother of two, passed away in Rockford, IL, at the age of 37. Rebekah was born on September 28, 1983 in Middletown, NJ to Marianne (Dennis) Hill. On July 20, 2012, she married Chris Parker, and they blended their family.

Above everything, Rebekah loved reading. She enjoyed book series, such as Outlander and The Sookie Stackhouse Novels (True Blood). She loved all animals, wishing to save every stray she met. Her fur babies are American pit bull terriers Kaos and Sumo. Rebekah was an avid country music fan. The a cappella group Home Free was one of her favorite bands. Rebekah's favorite quote was "The song may have ended, but the melody lingers on."

In addition to her husband, Rebekah is survived by her children, Jessica, Justin, Judith, Isaiah, and Evan; mother and stepfather, Marianne and Dave Hill; sister, Heidi Zapp; brother, David Zapp; Josh and Karen Raymond (Rebekah's first husband, and his mother); and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Josie Dennis.

The outdoor memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., October 17, 2020 at Belvidere First United Methodist Church, 610 Bonus Ave, Belvidere, ILRev. Lisa Kruse-Safford officiating. In accordance with Illinois Phase 4 recommendations, masks are required.  Please RSVP to ChildrenofRebekah@gmail.com. Thank you.
