Raymond E. Stewart, age 91, of Belvidere, IL died Sunday morning, April 17, 2005 in Maple Crest Nursing Home after a short illness. Raymond was born May 30, 1913 in Chicago, Illinois the son of George and Margaret Stewart. Ray married Violet Mantigtine on August 4, 1933 in St. Louis, Mo. Prior to his retirement, Ray was a steeple jack, painter and carpenter. He was a former member of the Eagles, Moose and Elks Clubs. He enjoyed fishing, making wind chimes and bird houses.Survivors include his children, Robert (Shirley) Stewart of Texas and Margaret Gessner of Georgia; fourteen grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; best friend and caregiver Mae Hullinger. Ray is predeceased by his parents, wife, three brothers, one sister and son Raymond Jr.
