Obituary

Raymond H. Pickard, 58, of Belvidere, IL died peacefully October 17, 2020, in Rockford, IL. He was born July 15, 1962, son to William Russell and Jean (Smith) Pickard in Hamilton, Ohio. He lived in Detroit, MI from 2 months to 14 years old before settling down in Belvidere, IL where his parents began working at Chrysler. He attended Belvidere High School then received his GED. He graduated in 2009 with an Associates of Science in Business from Cardinal Stritch University. Raymond worked as a volunteer for the Belvidere Police Department from 1986 to 1991. He became a police officer and EMT at Rockford Metro Center from 1997-2003 and a police officer at Kinston Police Department from 2003-2005. He was very proud of his service in the various police departments. His career was in Supply Chain Management and Inventory Control Management where he was a buyer for Swenson Spreader in Lindenwood, IL. Raymond married his sweetheart, Monica (Stines) on April 11, 1987 at First Baptist Church in Belvidere. Raymond loved photography and often took multiple photos of the Belvidere scenery. He was an avid young fisherman and coin collector.

Raymond will be loved and dearly missed by his wife, Monica; son, Joshua Ray Pickard, age 32; mother, Jean; brother, Gregory and Marcus Pickard; aunts, Myrtle Bowlin and Ethel (Jerry) Terrell; uncle Windell ( Jan) Kerby and uncle, Tommy (Kathie) Shelton; nephews, Justin Stines and Milo Gibson, Jr.; nieces, Katie Barens  and Kirby Shelton; father and mother in-law, John and Connie Stines; and sister-in-law, Lynn (Dean) Johnson.

He is preceded in death by his father; aunt and uncle, Reba and Forest Asher; aunt, Sharon (Art) Reser; and uncle, J.W. Bowlin.

Memorial contributions in his honor and memory can be made to the ALS Association or Mayo Clinic.
