Obituary

Randall "Randy" Eugene Trueblood, 91, of Belvidere, Illinois, went to be with the Lord on September 17, 2022, when he died peacefully at his home in Belvidere surrounded by his family. Randy was a man that loved God and his life speaks to one that was transformed by the acceptance and love of his savior, Jesus Christ. This love shaped him as a man, and he will be remembered as a kind, nurturing, and humble husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He was loved by many and those who knew him were blessed and will miss him deeply.

Randy was born March 18, 1931 in Salem, Indiana to Durant and Laura (Tompkins) Trueblood. He graduated high school in Salem before moving to Belvidere where he met and married his sweetheart, Shirley Shook, on January 1, 1950 in Belvidere. Together they had three children: Linda, Mark, and Gary. Randy worked for 32 years as a Materials Manager for W.F. & John Barnes Company in Rockford, IL before retiring from Circle Boring & Machine Company. Randy was a devoted member of Faith Baptist Church in Belvidere where he served in a variety of roles including deacon, Sunday school teacher, youth group leader, choir member, chairman of the building committee, and trustee. Randy also attended Cortez Baptist Church in Bradenton, Florida where he and Shirley spent their winters for over 30 years. Randy was also an active member of Gideons International-Boone Camp. He loved old cars and took pride in his 1930 Model A Ford. Randy was an avid golfer who loved the outdoors. Most of all, he loved and cherished his wife, Shirley, and loved traveling with her (including visiting over 70 countries and all 50 states). Randy was a family man who treasured time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Randy is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughter Linda Lehman; son, Gary (Tami) Trueblood; grandchildren, Steve (Alicia) Lehman, Jeremy Trueblood, David (Shivangi) Trueblood, Michael Trueblood, Lora (Erik) Trueblood, Beth (Dan) Webber, and Peter Trueblood; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Cameron; and numerous extended family and friends.
