Ralph A. Nimtz, 87, of Belvidere, died Saturday, May 31, 2008 in Maple Crest Nursing Home following a lingering illness. He was born August 9, 1920 in Garden Prairie, Ill. to Fred A. and Fredericka (Brandt) Nimtz. Ralph was a machinist for Barnes International, Rockford, Ill. He is a veteran of WWII serving in the Army. He enjoyed gardening and hunting. Ralph is survived by a niece, Ruth Bower, Belvidere; two great nephews, David (Kate) Bernovich, of South Milwaukee, Wis. and their children, Marina, Natasha and Susanna; and Douglas Bower, Belvidere, Ill; and special friend, Dorothy Vore, Capron, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marie Hartman.
