IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ralph “Skip”
Harry Rose
September 20, 1951 – May 27, 2025
Ralph "Skip" Harry Rose Jr., of Belvidere, IL, passed away suddenly on May 27, 2025, at the age of 73. He was born on September 20, 1951, in Rockford, IL, the son of Frances (Swierzynski) and Ralph Rose Sr.
Skip was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and a cherished friend to many. He attended East High School in Rockford and later graduated from Irving High School in El Paso, Texas. Following graduation, Skip proudly served his country in the United States Army as an X-ray Technician. This is where he met the mother of his children, Patricia (Baygents) Widell.
Skip spent many years as a quality assurance manager, a role that allowed him to travel extensively across the United States and internationally to countries including India and China.
Skip had a zest for life and a wide range of interests. He enjoyed playing darts and golf. A lover of wine, eastern culture, and western art, Skip was also an avid fan of Chicago sports—faithfully cheering on the Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls, and Cubs (but never the Sox!). Above all, he enjoyed the quality time spent with his family, friends, tending to his vegetable garden, and Friday night WWE.
He will be remembered for his bright smile, many great stories, and his presence will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his children, Jeremy (Alexa Whaley) Rose, Melissa (Tim) Rose Medina; grandchildren, Brent Rose, Antonio (Sayra) Medina, Makenna Foht, Elliot Medina, Leo Dean, and Ava Rose; great-grandchildren, Madison, Itzayana, and Lionel; siblings, Jacki (Pete) DeVries, Frank (Jill) Rose, Michael Rose, Julie (Brad) Christian, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family whom he loved dearly.
He is welcomed into heaven by his son, Christopher Rose; parents, Frances and Ralph Rose Sr., as well as his long-time friend, Peggy.
A celebration of Skip's life will be on Saturday, June14th between the hours of 12-5pm at the Boone County VFW. Located at 1310 W. Lincoln Ave. Belvidere, IL 61008. Military honors to be conducted at 1pm.
