Phyllis M. Walter, 50, of Belvidere, died Friday, October 8, 2010 in her home following a sudden illness. She was born on January 28, 1960 in Denver Colorado, the daughter of Friend Duane and Barbara Sue (Knight) Hoskins. She is a graduate of Elgin Community College. Phyllis married Jacob F. "Jack" Walter in Belvidere, Illinois. She was employed as a nurse manager for Elgin Mental Health Center. Phyllis was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She served on many different committees at the health center. She was a former president for the Illinois Nurses Association. Phyllis is survived by her husband, "Jack" of Belvidere and son, Kyle Hoskins, of New York City, formerly of Belvidere; mother, Barbara (Dave) Sims, Utica, Illinois; two brothers, John (Debbie) Hoskins and James (Robin) Hoskins. Several nieces and nephews; two God-daughters and two beautiful canine companions, "Princess" and "Adorabella" Phyllis was preceded in death by her father.
