Phyllis J. Bodey, 88, of Belvidere, IL, died peacefully December 11, 2023, in Belvidere, IL.   She was born March 3, 1935 in Belvidere, daughter to Leslie and Tressa (Hoffman) Frazer. She graduated from Belvidere High School in 1953 and married her sweetheart, Keith Bodey, December 11, 1954, at the original First United Methodist Church in Belvidere and were married for 69 years! Phyllis worked at Parsons Casket for many years. She was a Cub Scout leader and a greeter at the YMCA in Belvidere, making employee of the year. She loved horses, dogs and cats. She was a member of the Boone County Saddle Club for over 25 years. She also raised Collie dogs. Phyllis was a life time member of the 1461 Post with the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Phyllis is loved and will be dearly missed by her husband, Keith; sons, Leslie Bodey, Jim (Debbie) Bodey and Rory (Sheila) Bodey; grandchildren, Kayla (Colt) Seaberg, Kristin (Vincent) Helmus, Jenni (Joe) Mundy, Dan (Marilyn)  Bodey, Jody (Amanda Bennett) Bodey, Ashlee (Julio) Rivas, Deane (Dimo) Tzemopoulos, Matt (Sharmine) Bodey, Josh (Jessica) Bodey and Jacob Bodey; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Pat Hammond; brother-in-law, Ken (Judy) Bodey, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members whom she loved dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-law, Gordy Hammond.

A visitation will be from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008. A service will follow. Rev. Allan Buss will officiate. Burial at Shattuck Grove Cemetery.  A special thank you to Mariam Nasiva, her caretaker and to Dr. Clayton Malaker.
