Philip H. Hart, born on April 20, 1945 died on March 29, 2025. His father was a physician/surgeon who moved the family in 1954 from New York City to Albany, New York and then to the Chicago area. In 1963 Phil graduated from Evanston Township High School. He graduated from Beloit College in Wisconsin with a B.A. in 1967. He then graduated from Garrett Theological Seminary with a Masters in Divinity in 1971.


Subsequently, Phil was a hospital chaplain at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago. Also, Phil was a teacher for the Chicago Public School system. He graduated from the Northern Illinois University College of Law in 1978 with a Juris Doctor degree. Afterwards he worked as a bank trust examiner for the Federal Reserve Bank in Chicago.


In 1983 Phil moved from Chicago to Rockford, Illinois for a new job which became his 31 year career as a Staff Attorney for the UAW-Chrysler Legal Services Plan in Belvidere, Illinois. Chrysler closed the legal service in 2014 and for the past 10 years Phil was with two different bankruptcy law firms in Rockford until 2024 when he stopped working due to illness.


In 1988, Phil met the lovely Debra of Poplar Grove, Illinois at a local church singles group. They were married in 1990. (Both for the second time.) They doted over their son Dylan who was married and has a son, Derek. Phil also had a daughter from a previous time, Suzanne, who has three children, namely, Alaina, Nate and Gabrielle. Phil also is a great grandfather. Phil's parents predeceased him along with his dear brother Ralph. He is survived by his sister, Arda.


Memorial visitation is from 10am to 11am on Friday, April 25, 2025 at Anderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services located at 218 West Hurlbut Avenue in Belvidere, Illinois. A memorial service will follow at 11am. Inurnment is private to immediate family at Highland Garden of Memories.


In lieu of flowers or in addition to flowers, you may make donations in Phil's name to the Armenian General Benevolent Union, 55 East 59th Street, New York, NY 10022.
