Pentti "Fin" Snellman, 82, of Roscoe and previously of Palatine, IL., died Monday May 2, 2005 at O.S.F. St. Anthony Medical Center. He was born May 27, 1922 in Finland. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1942-1945 aboard the USS Conway. On November 6, 1986 he married Helen Senger in Palatine, IL. He was a member of the VFW Post #3846 in Skokie, IL., and the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles, collected navy memorabilia, sailboats, and lighthouses. He had a passion for sailing and he sailed in the Macinaw race on Lake Michigan on numerous occasions. He is survived by his wife Helen of Roscoe, son; David (Charlene) Snellman of Antioch, IL., daughter; Karen (James) Smitham of Roscoe, 8 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, and 2 daughters.
