Penny Ann Gottinger, age 78, passed away at home January 23, 2025 with her family at her side. Born August 27th, 1946, in Chicago, IL to Harold and Alta (Wittig) Gierke.

Penny grew up outside of Chicago, but it was in the Wisconsin north woods while on a family vacation in 1961 where she met the love of her life Allan Gottinger. They became long distance high school sweethearts and married in September 1968.

Penny and Allan raised their daughters in McHenry IL where life was "homemade". From amazing birthday cakes to Halloween costumes and everything in between, her talents made for long lasting memories.

Penny is survived by her husband Allan, daughters Kari Gottinger and Jennifer (Paul) Dettman, granddaughters Kaitlin (Cole) Box, Madalyn (Derek) Drays and great grandson Jaxon; bonus grandchildren Kayla, David, Nicole and Bradly Dettman; sister Linda (Dennis) Gerstung, nephew Cory (Katie) Gerstung and great nieces and nephews Devin, Adriana, Kenadee and Jameson. She was preceded in death by her parents, mother and father-in-law Dorothy and Aloys Gottinger and nephews Dennis and Jason Gerstung.

A celebration of life will be planned for a future date.
