Peggy L. Schlais, 81, of Belvidere, IL passed away peacefully on December 7, 2020 at Maple Crest Care Centre in Belvidere, IL. Peggy was born on May 6, 1939 in Detroit, MI to Antonio J. "Tex" and Dorothy M. (Daffron) Zocalli. Peggy loved watching sports on TV, but especially NASCAR. She was a big Dale Earnhardt fan and had her apartment decorated from floor to ceiling in NASCAR memorabilia.

She will be dearly missed by her children, RisPowers, Kathleen (Keith) Magnus, and Michael (Donna) Gargani; grandchildren, Ryan and Natalie Magnus, and David and Lance Gargani; her friends and the CNAs/Staff at Heritage Woods: Karen, Rhonda, Cindy, and Colleen, to name a few.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark Gargani; and her sister, Beverly Conklin.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Heartland Hospice and their caring staff. They are eternally grateful for their immediate response to their mother's end of life care.
