Surrounded by her loving family, Peggy Lee Baylander, 55, of Rockford, formerly of Belvidere, died at 11:30 A.M. Monday, December 29, 2008, in her home following a two month illness. Peggy was born April 17, 1953, in Sandwich, IL, the daughter of Robert and Betty Rodgers Halterman. On August 8, 1987, she married Wesley R. Baylander in Belvidere. Before coming ill, Peggy had worked as a truck driver with her husband, Wes, driving for Carey Transportation; in prior years she had worked as a waitress in several Belvidere area restaurants. Peggy was a 1972 graduate of Dundee High School and had attended St. John's United Church of Christ.Survivors include her husband, Wes; children Bobbie (Mohamed) Zamzam of Schaumburg, Jody (Michael) Kossow of Loves Park, Tabbatha Eash and B.J. Thomas, both of Rockford; step-children Lisa (Jeremy) Davis and Jonathon (Melissa) Baylander, both of Rockford; brother Robin (Linda) Halterman of Crystal Lake; sisters Sara Warner and Xristina Halterman, both of Denver, CO; and 16 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
