Obituary

Pearl Luella Trumpour Greve, 90, of Belvidere, IL, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015, in her home surrounded by family. She was born in Sycamore, IL on September 18, 1924 to W. Addison and Nellie (Maney) Trumpour.  She was the youngest of 7 and the first to be born in a hospital. Pearl married Edward Junior Greve on August 7, 1954 in Hampshire, IL.  Pearl ran the Village Inn Restaurant in Hampshire prior to moving to Garden Prairie, IL. She was an LPN at Highland Hospital for 15 years and then did bookkeeping for a lumber yard in Garden Prairie.

Pearl was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and attended many games but listened or watched almost daily during the season. She was famous for her gingersnap cookies, which also became a nickname.  She was an active community member in her church and many organizations. She was in Garden Prairie and Belvidere Women's Club and held offices in both. Pearl was a volunteer at Highland Hospital and in the Auxiliary and a past president. She also was on the auxiliary at Maple Crest nursing home.

Pearl is proceeded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings, Mary(Joe)Smith, Florence(Bernie) Burnell, John Trumpour, Minnie (Charles) Hartung, George Trumpour and great granddaughter Abigail Grace Scherf.

Pearl is survived by her children, Patricia Greve Scherf and David E. (Kathleen) Greve; grandchildren, Stacy( Robert) Scherf Dieterlen, Justin (Lori) Scherf, Kimberly(Kenny) Ledet, Stephanie (Trent) Belisle, Sara Greve; great-grandchildren,  Gage Scherf, Gavin Ledet, Joel   Dufrene , and Johnathan Belisle.

Special thanks to Dr. Neal Kellenburger, Pastors Willie, Buss, and Hanson, and Northern Illinois Hospice for their love and care. Special thanks to friends and family who have been there for us all.

Service will be at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Belvidere, IL on May 28, 2015 at 11 am. Visitation will proceed from 8:30 to 11am. Preparations handled by Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
