Pauline E. Schoepski, 86, of Belvidere, IL passed away peacefully at 5:45 am on Friday, March 28, 2014 in Presence Cor Mariae. She was born in Sycamore, IL on January 14, 1928, Pauline was a long time resident of Belvidere. She worked for many years in the family business, Bob & Vern's Diner in Belvidere, Making the delicious pies that people still comment on today. Later she went to work for the Belvidere School District in the cafeteria. She retired in 1995. Pauline was a parishioner of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Belvidere. She taught reading for the Literacy Council in her retirement years-setting an example for her children of giving back to society and caring for those less fortunate.
Pauline was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed the family gatherings shared after her husband's passing in 1991.
Pauline was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Rose Hoffman; her loving husband, Robert (1991); siblings Ernest Hoffman, Tige Hoffman and Charlotte Chapman and two nephews, Larry and terry Brumley.
She leaves behind her daughter, Lynn (Larry) Hanson, Bill (Allien McNair) Schoepski, James (Kim) Schoepski and Jay (Jody) Allen. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kelly Nystrom, Jennifer Hanson, Amy Trombley, Danielle Schoepski, Evan Schoepski, Shea Schoepski and Ian Schoepski- as well as her great-grandchildren, Grace, Eva, Annabelle and Leila (and soon-to-be, Poppy).
The visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M. on Monday, March 31, 2014 in Anderson Funeral and Cremation Service: Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Chapel, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL. A celebration of Pauline's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the funeral home with Rev. Eugene Wille, pastor emeritus of Immanuel Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Belvidere Cemetery. Memorials can be given in care of Heritage Woods of Belvidere, 4730 Squaw Prairie Rd., Belvidere, Il 61008 in Pauline's name.
