Paul A. Hilgenberg, 72, of Cherry Valley, passed away Saturday morning, March 12, 2016 at East Bank Center after a long illness. Born November 11, 1943, in Mattoon, IL, son of Paul and Betilou (Anderson) Hilgenberg. Paul married Sandra Freeman on June 28, 1986 in Crystal Lake, IL. He worked as a salesman for farm and heavy equipment for many years, before becoming a real estate agent in the Rockford area. Paul enjoyed watching westerns, bowling, and watching the Chicago Cubs.

Paul is loved and will be missed by his wife, Sandra; daughter, Vicki (Brent) Crane; step-children, Elizabeth Licht, and Kristin Mishler; mother, Betilou Roy; grandchildren, Augusta and Lucas Crane; step-grandchildren, Nicole (James) Solberg, Jamie Licht, Justin Mishler, and Megan Mishler; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Holden Solberg; brother, Jim Hilgenberg; sister, Kyla Cox. He is preceded in death by his father and step-daughter, Kimberly Freeman.
