Paul Oliver Hale, 89, of Belvidere,IL, departed from this earthly life into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on March 15, 2024. He was born on July 24, 1934. The son of Clarence and May (Mundy.)

Paul was a deeply devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was married to Dorothy (Dickson) for nearly 70 years. It was said that no one was a stranger to Paul, he was charismatic and friendly to everyone he met. He was generous and kind and would always help others.

Paul was dedicated to his family, his community and the Lord. He worked for over 35 years for the United States Postal service as a letter carrier. Paul enjoyed classic cars and frequented car shows when he was able. He enjoyed working on his car maintenance and repairs and was very mechanically inclined.

He will be remembered for his friendly nature, his faith, and his dedication to family.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; their children, Carol, Deb (Mike), Paul Jr. (Valerie) and Chris; grandchildren, Jason, Madison, Natalie, Paul III, Rebecca, Chris, and Rick; siblings, Virgil, Leona, and Doris; daughter in law, Marcy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends whom he loved dearly.

He is predeceased by his parents, May and Clarence; and sisters, Alice and Virginia.

Cremation rites have been accorded and memorial services to be scheduled at a later date.
