Paul "Steve" Combs, of Belvidere, IL died in Rockford, IL on August 28, 2023. He was born May 16, 1939, in Rockford, son to Lester and Edna Combs. He graduated from Belvidere High School, was in the Air Force, and married Kay Johnson on December 29, 1961, at First United Methodist Church in Belvidere. Paul was a purchasing manager for Barber Coleman for 30 plus years and owned the Video Hut with his wife Kay, in Belvidere. He also attended First United Methodist Church with Kay, belonged to the IOU Club and Coon Creek Casters. He loved farming, golfing, fishing and woodworking. He was a world traveler with Kay going on cruises to Finland, Russia, Germany, Ireland, Scotland, Hawaii, and many other locations. Paul loved the Chicago Bears and attending sporting events for his grandkids.

He enjoyed socializing very much. He was an avid storyteller spreading much laughter. He loved yard work, birds and flowers. He had bird feeders surrounding their home and enjoyed watching the birds eat. Paul also shared with family his memories on the farm. He was very outgoing and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He was well loved.

Paul will be missed by his wife, Kay; sons, Jeff Combs and David Combs; siblings, Bill Combs in Evanston, Wyoming and Pat Combs in Tucson, Arizona; grandchildren, Rachel Schier, Elaina Sigwards, Jacob Sigwards, Tanner Combs, Riley Combs, Sofia Combs; and great-grandchildren, Hunter Costello and Addie Costello. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Linda Sigwards; and brothers, Bob, Buck and Mike.

A visitation for Paul will be from 10 to noon, Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Anderson Funeral & Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008. Service to follow. Rev.
