IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Paul Arnette
Anderson
December 14, 1938 – April 20, 2025
Paul Arnette Anderson passed away peacefully on Easter morning, April 20, 2025, in Belvidere, Illinois, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Elkhorn, WI to Arndt and Alice Anderson, Paul spent his early years in Harvard, IL before settling in Belvidere, where he lived out the remainder of his full and joyful life.
To know Paul was to love him. He will be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering positivity, deep devotion to his family, and exceptional work ethic. Paul proudly served his country in the United States Army, and upon returning home, dedicated his career to Northern Illinois Gas, where he worked faithfully until retirement.
In retirement, Paul found great joy in woodworking. He crafted countless hand-made pieces, each a reflection of his care and creativity. He especially loved building model cars and trucks, many of which he proudly entered in the Boone County Fair—earning ribbons that brought him quiet pride.
He also found happiness in the simple things: mowing the yard, driving down back roads just to enjoy the scenery, and spending time in the fresh air.
But above all, Paul's greatest joy came from his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth Anderson; daughters Michelle Slove, Tamara (Howard) Boyd, Paulette (Dan) Heney, Barb (Tim) Philips, Carol DeSonia, Sue (Tab) Wiegel; and son Jim (Amanda) DeSonia. He was a proud grandfather to 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, and cherished every moment spent with them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Dean Anderson and Colin Anderson.
Paul lived a life rich in love, laughter, and legacy. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Paul's memorial visitation will be Saturday, May 17th between the hours of 9-11am at Immanuel Lutheran Church located at 1045 Belvidere Rd, Belvidere, IL 61008. Service to follow at 11am.
