Patrick "Pat" Thomas Gendron, 67, of Rockford, IL, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at OSF St. Anthony Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.
Born May 28, 1958, in Torrance, California, Pat was the son of George "Pat" Gendron and Joan (Cantarano) Gendron. He graduated from Guilford High School and went on to build a life rooted in family, community, and hard work.
On November 28, 1987, Pat married the love of his life, Sherri (Koltz) Gendron, at the Church by the Side of the Road. Together, they shared a beautiful life full of laughter, love, and lasting memories.
Pat began G&O Landscaping in 1983 and worked side by side with his brother and co-owner Paul for the last 35 years, a business that reflected his strong work ethic and pride in craftsmanship. Pat was a longtime friend of Bill W. Over the course of 42 years, Pat impacted many lives as a mentor, sponsor and friend.
Pat's greatest joy came from spending time with his family and friends. He especially loved taking his granddaughters shopping, camping, and traveling whenever he had the chance. His kindness, sense of humor, and generous spirit touched the lives of many and will never be forgotten.
Pat is survived by his loving wife, Sherri; children Alicia Glaser (Chris Ginger), Jason Fiduccia (Marie); brothers Paul (Michele), Tom (Traci), Larry (Margie), Dennis (Trina); sister Maureen Maguire (Jim); brother-in-law Gael Shafer (Peggy Eikstadt); 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and special friend Jeff Glaser
He was preceded in death by his father, George "Pat" Gendron, and sister, Karen Shafer.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, 218 W Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place immediately after the service.
Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating Pat's life at a luncheon following the burial at VFW Post 1461, 1310 W Lincoln Ave, Belvidere, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family or to Camp Winnebago , a place close to Pat's heart.
