Patricia Alison Smith, 80, of Poplar Grove, IL passed away September 22, 2023 in her home surrounded by family. She was born on October 13, 1942 in Madison, Wisconsin. The daughter of Norma (Morehouse) and Alvin Schwartz. Pat was raised on a farm, and grew up with a strong moral code of work ethic and family values. On December 27, 1964 she married Kenneth Smith, and together they shared 4 children and 47 years in marriage. They were dedicated parents and grandparents. Patricia worked for many years at CAMCAR and made many close friends and coworkers during her time there. She was strong in her convictions and wasn't afraid to call it like she saw it. Pat enjoyed spending her free time doing crafts like diamond art and scrapbooking. She loved to hear about the stories of her grandchildren and make sure she had pictures of all their events. During the holidays, she would make cards and gifts and invite family over for a home cooked meal. She was a longtime fan of the Chicago Cubs, and NASCAR, but she was the number one fan of her son, Chad with his racing career. Above all, Patricia loved the quality time she spent with family. She will be missed by many.

She is survived by sons, Alvin (Sherry Uhlir) Smith of Rockford, Tony (Robin Khalar) Smith of Belvidere, Clint (Marne) Smith of Machesney Park, Chad (DeAnna) Smith of Poplar Grove; grandchildren, Deagen, Adam, Dillon, Danelle, Kayla, Michelle, Emma, Michael, and Brysen; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Michael, Kimberly, Ava, Jesse, and Allison; siblings, Mike and Priscilla; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family whom she loved dearly. She is welcomed into heaven by her husband, Ken; and her parents, Norma and Alvin.

Pat's visitation will be Monday, October 2 between the hours of 5-7pm at Anderson Funeral & Cremation Services, located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008.
