Patricia "Pat" Waters, 86, of Rockford passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015 in her home at Wesley Willows.  She was born January 7, 1929 in Rockford, IL the daughter of the late Harold and Dorothy (Corson) Collier.  She married the late Paul E. Waters on Easter Sunday in 1952. She was a graduate of West High School, 1946 and DePauw University, Greencastle, IN. in 1950. She was employed over the years by Dr. Samuel Behr, Dr. Hugh Johnson, The Rockford School of Medicine and Rockford Institute. Pat served her community and church in many capacities to include the Rockford Junior League, United Methodist Women's organization, Court Street United Methodist Church's Worship committee, Finance committee, Staff Parish and relations committee and Chancel choir for over 50 years. She was also a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and the Rockford Country Club Women's 18-Hole golf group. She was an avid golfer, voracious reader and never met a crossword puzzle she could not solve.  She was a lifelong fan of her beloved "cubbies" and Bears and enjoyed yearly trips to the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  She is predeceased by her parents, husband, sister Sandra (Jack) Thayer, and grandson Paul Waters. She is survived by her children Mark Waters of Punta Gorda, Fl., Bill Waters of Ft. Myers, Fl., Ann(Chris) Miller of Ashburn, Va., and grandchildren Marcie (Doug) Crawford,  Andrew(Hannah) Miller, Ben Miller and Chase Miller.  She also has 5 great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate her life will take place at 11:00 am, Friday, July 17th at Court Street United Methodist Church, 215 North Court St., Rockford, IL 61103 with Rev. Calvin Culpepper officiating; and will be immediately followed by a memorial reception in the church dining room. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Paul Waters Music Library (215 N. Court St. Rockford, IL 61103) and to the Wesley Willows Good Samaritan Fund (4141 N.
