Patricia D. (Lewis) Tamanauskas Nelson, 77, of Garden Prairie, Illinois died Saturday, March 12, 2011 in O.S.F. St. Anthony Medical Center following a short illness. She was born March 6, 1934 in Belvidere, Illinois to Leslie W. and Iola (Hayes) Lewis. Pat married Harold E. Nelson in Belvidere on January 19, 1980. He preceded her in death on December 14, 1985. She worked as a cake decorator and bakery manager for several area bakeries and grocery stores. Pat was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Belvidere and the Women's Auxiliary of both V.F.W. and the American Legion. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, dancing and being outdoors and walking her dog, "Freedom". Pat graduated from Belvidere High School. She is survived by her two daughters, Kathy (Lance) Jacobson; Joy (Keith) McCormick, both of Belvidere and a son, Terry (Sharon) Tamanauskas, Byron, Illinois; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, James (Linda) Lewis, Arvada, Colorado; an aunt, Iona "Scoop" Narestad, Belvidere; longtime companion, Bruce Anderson. In addition to her husband, Pat is preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Larry Lewis.
