Patricia Louise Grist Freeman, 84, of Belvidere, IL, passed away on June 11, 2024. She was born on November 24, 1939, in Chicago IL, the daughter of Louise Amelia (Sorenson) and Robert Gilbert Grist.
Pat was a deeply devoted mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, and friend. She graduated from Fenton High School in 1957 and went on to work at various floral and hospitality jobs. Notably, she was employed at JL Clark, the Boone County VFW, Timber Point Golf Course, The Flower Bin, and Anderson Funeral Home.
She loved flower gardening, horses, motorcycling rides, her dog, and above all quality with those she loved. Pat made lifelong connections and friends everywhere she went. Kind, generous, outgoing, and loving are just a few of the words to describe the way she lived - family being the center of her life.
She will be missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
She is survived by "her 4 boys", Rick (Tammy) Anderson, Bob (Cindy) Anderson, Ron (Dianna) Anderson, and Dan (Courtney) Anderson; grandchildren, Danielle (Eric) Amundson, Justin (Krissy) Anderson, Matthew Anderson, Jill Newhouse, Kim Fitzgerald, Bryan Feldt, Tabatha Anderson, Rachel (Justin) Van Heerden, Reanna Kemp, Renold "Tank" Thompson, Reily (Nick Graham) Anderson, and Luke (Rachele Earlywine) Anderson; great grandchildren, Blake, Maddie, Cameron, Cheyenne, Mercedes, Maddie, Dayton, Aiden, Ryker, Ronan, Raelynn, Rion, Zander, Broxen, Elise, Levi, Lyndell, Wyatt, and Paisley. She is also survived by her brother Robert (Marie) Grist; nieces, Holly (Chris) Koch, Heather (Tarek) Koch, as well as numerous extended family members and friends she loved dearly.
She is predeceased by her parents, Louise and Robert Grist, aunt, Lorraine Jeske, and beloved dog, "Mr. Big."
Pat's memorial service will be held on Friday, June 28th at 6pm at Anderson Funeral Home, located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL. There will be a visitation from 4pm until the time of service.
Cremation rites have been accorded and burial at Belvidere Cemetery at a later date.
