Otis F.V. Morgan Sr., 85, of Poplar Grove died on Monday, April 4, 2011, in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born August 3, 1925 in Chicago, son of Harry E. and Anne (Papendick) Morgan. Faithfully served our country in the Merchant Marines from 1944-1945 and in the US Army from 1945-1947. Married Irma M. Mate on July 2, 1949 in Chicago. Worked as a manufacturing engineer at Sunbeam Appliance Corporation and Siemens Gammasonics. Member of First United Methodist Church and the American Legion, was a Boy Scout leader for many years, loved woodworking and traveled around the world with Sunbeam to set up plants.Survivors include his loving wife Irma, sons Otis (Janet) Morgan, Jr. of Belvidere, Dennis (Beth Ann) Morgan of Surprise, AZ, grandchildren Zachary Morgan, Catherine (Jason) Mindeman, great-grandchildren Hayley Morgan, Madison and Dean Mindeman, brother Robert (Rose) Morgan of FL. Predeceased by his parents, brother Ernest, sister Anna Pecararo, and grandson Michael Morgan.
