Obituary

Caledonia, IllinoisOscar Hall, 91, of Caledonia, Illinois died early Monday morning, May 15, 2006 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Oscar was born February 1, 1915 in Manchester Township, IL the son of Ole and Anna (Anderson) Hall. He married Lillian E. Krupke on August 1, 1942 at the Hunter United Methodist Church. Oscar devoted his life to farming. He served our country in the US Army during World War II for four years and eight months. Oscar served under Generals Bradley, Eisenhower and Patton at Normandy Beach and the Battle of the Buldge for which he received the Silver Star.Oscar was a member of the Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church and council, VFW, Boone County Farm Bureau, Pure Milk Assoc., North Boone School Board for 9 years, was a representative for North Boone during the construction of Rock Valley College, Manchester Township Highway Commissioner and North Boone Fire District Treasurer for 28 years.Survivors include his wife, Lillian of Caledonia; sons, Bill (Kathy) Hall of Caledonia, John (Laurie) Hall of Chestertown, MD; grandchildren, Meghan, Teigen, Kata, Anna; brothers, Edward (Marie) Hall of Poplar Grove, Ole (Ethel) Hall of Sharon, WI and several nieces and nephews. Oscar is predeceased by his parents; brother Andrew and special sister in-law, Gladys Shull.The family wishes to acknowledge VNA Hospice and the Harlem-Roscoe Rescue Squad for the care given to Oscar and his family.
