Orland H. Brockmann, 84, a longtime resident of Cherry Valley, Ill. died Tuesday, January 1, 2008 in Swedish-American Hospital following a short illness. Born May 5, 1923 in Palatine, Illinois, son of William and Ella (Kirchhoff) Brockmann. He was married to Arlene M. Meier in Arlington Heights, Ill. on May 6, 1950. He was a farmer. Veteran of WWII serving in the Army. Orland was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he served as an Elder. He was a member of the Boone County Farm Bureau and a former board member of Flora Township. He is a graduate of Arlington Heights Twp. High School and attended Valpariso University. Orland is survived by his wife, Arlene, Cherry Valley; a daughter, Gloria Liska, Waukesha, Wis.; 2 sons, John (Sherry) Brockmann, Belvidere, Ill.; Brian (Diane) Brockmann, Kirkland, Ill. 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Arnold.
