Orin E. "Gene" Johnson, 81 of Belvidere, IL died Sunday evening, July 10, 2011 in the comfort of his home. Gene was born September 1, 1929 in Redland, OK the son of Orin J. and Edna (Moore) Johnson. He married Margie A. Osberg on February 7, 1976 in Garden Prairie, IL. Gene worked in heat treating as a refractory worker for Ipsen Heat Treating, Chrysler Corp. and then as an independent contractor. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving in Germany during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Boone Post 77, John Hugo Kaiser V.F.W. Post 1461 and loved to golf.He is loved and will be missed by his wife, Margie of Belvidere; children, Rhonda (Rick) Jacobson of Ridott, Debra (Nick) Nardiello of Roscoe, Linda (Elliot) Harris of Roscoe, Diana (Todd) Walberg of Garden Prairie, Gail (Regan) Gray of Belvidere, Dennis Meyers of Belvidere and Teresa Meyers of Roscoe; brother, Ronald Johnson of Kerman, CA; sister, Jewel White of Lamont, CA; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.Gene is predeceased by his parents; sisters, Essie Tuck, Lily Stanley and brother, Larry Johnson.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be given in care of the family.
