Olive J. Stangassinger, 92, of Belvidere, passed away peacefully, Tuesday afternoon, January 24, 2017 in Belvidere. She was born June 25, 1924 in Midnight, Mississippi, daughter of William and Hettie (Varner) Applewhite. She married Georg Stangassinger on June 17, 1972 in Belvidere, IL. Olive was a faithful member of Belvidere First Assembly of God. She loved making quilts, sewing, and cooking.

Olive is loved and missed by her children, Bruce Paris of Davis, IL, and Linda (Gene) Johannes of Roselle, IL; grandchildren, Nicole (Andy) Dudley, Derrick Paris, Conner Rice, and Tyler Johannes; and 3 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Georg, parents, and 5 brothers, and 1 sister.
