Norman Keith Sanders, 66, of Poplar Grove, IL died of a sudden illness, Sunday, September 23, 2007 while on vacation in St. Louis. Norm was born in Elgin, IL on November 2, 1940 to Glenn W. and Dora J. (Anderson) Sanders. Norm was involved in the I.O.O.F, the Boy Scouts of America from the time he was child progressing to assistant Scout Master leader for several years. He graduated from Elgin High School in 1958 and Northern Indiana University in 1962. Norm married Pat Van Natta, August 23, 1963 in Elgin, IL. Norm was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend who will be dearly missed. Norm was an accountant by profession, he taught at Ellis Business College, was general manager of Candlewick Lake for 7 years, and owned and operated Our Place in Poplar Grove for 7 years; however, Norm's heart was being everyone's handyman. Norm is survived by his wife, Pat of Poplar Grove; mother, Dora Sanders of South Elgin; children, Dorene (Jeff) Bartz, Paul (Jennifer) Sanders, Marcia Sanders all of Belvidere; Jay Sanders, David Sanders both of Denver, CO; foster daughters, LeeRae Sowers and Nikki (Mike) Lockwood both of Machesney, Park; special family friends Brandon Chadbourne and Tim Hodsdon both of Denver Co; grandchildren, Ashley, Eric, Brittany, Katelyn, Matthew, Kyle, Charli, grandson to be, Crystal, Savannah and Terry; sisters, Carole (Robert) Costner, Karen McDonald, Sandra (Gordon) Walters, Beverly (Clarke) Renard. Norm was an uncle to numerous nieces and nephews and a nephew and cousin to many. Norm was preceded in death by his father, Glenn in 1985 and sister, Sharon in her infancy.
