Belvidere, IllinoisNorman E. Carlson, 85 of Belvidere, IL died Thursday evening, March 25, 2010 in Maple Crest Nursing Home after a short illness. Norm was born September 26, 1924 in Arpin, WI the son of Emil N. and Ethel Otilia (Johnson) Carlson. He married June K. Nielsen on April 30, 1948 in Rockford, IL. Norm served in the US Army during World War II in the European Theater while being stationed in England. For many years, he was very involved with the Boy Scouts of America as a scout leader. He retired from GTE in Genoa. Survivors include his children Karen (Robert) Lewin of St. Charles, Il and Allen B. Carlson of Springfield, IL as well as five grandchildren. Norm is predeceased by his parents, wife, June and son, Gary.
