Belvidere, IllinoisNordean "Dean" Simon, age 64, of Belvidere, Illinois died Sunday morning, October 30, 2005 in Rockford Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Dean was born on November 27, 1940 in Sisseton, South Dakota the son of John and Ramona (Arbach) Simon. The family moved to Belvidere in 1950. Dean attended St. James School and graduated from Belvidere High School. Following high school, Dean served our country in the U.S. Navy. After his Naval service, Dean became self employed and operated Berman Auto Parts for over 30 years. In his spare time Dean belonged to Boy Scout Troop 141, Wulapeju Lodge 140 Order of the Arrow, DeKalb Elks Lodge # 765 and was a devote Green Bay Packer Fan.Survivors include his wife, Susan; son, Michael (Monica); daughter, Lori (Jerry) VerHagen Sr, grandchildren, Chad, Kristy, Jerry VerHagen, Jr., Taylor, Abigail, Mason Simon; Kassie T.D.D.; sisters, Diane "Peg" (Larry) Wirth, Sr; Arlene (Cecil) Jones; nieces, Lori (Bill) Perry, Jamie, Jackie, Jessia, Jordan Simon; nephews, Rob (Trish) Jones, Randy (Chris) Jones, Joshua Simon; great nieces and nephews, Chad, Sarah, Katrina, Jacob Jones, Trevor, Collin Perry, Brian, Andrew, Hunter Wirth; several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and many friends.Dean is preceded in death by his parents, brother, John "Jack" Simon and nephew Larry Wirth, Jr.A special Thank You to Sumei, his nurse, for being with Dean in his final moments
