Norbert W. Tonczyk, 87, of Belvidere, IL, passed away suddenly on March 12, 2015. Norbert was born June 3, 1927 in Chicago, IL, son of Stanley and Rose (Piarowski) Tonczyk. He graduated high school and from the Chicago Music Academy before enlisting in the Army for WWII. Norb worked for Commonwealth Edison for many years. He enjoyed playing the accordion and traveled many times to Door County to play with his band. Norb adored Europe and Germany. He appeciatated Richard Wagner's music.

Norbert is loved and will be missed by his sister, Delores Lejcar of Rockford, IL; special friends, John and Evelyn Lopez, Jacque (Bret) Daehler. He is preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, March 23, 2015 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 West Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL, 61008, with Pastor Jaci McNeil officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Salvation Army.
