Nilon "June" Smith, 68, of Belvidere, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 28, 2010 in her home. Born July 28, 1942 in Clarksdale, Arkansas, daughter of Elmer Brown and Elnora Hackerd. She married Billie Smith on January 26, 1957. Member of the East Park Baptist Church and a retired beautician and caregiver. June loved her family and friends. She was an angel and a gift from God to all those she cared for over the years. Her true love was working with the elderly. June's kindness and sweet smile will be missed but always remembered.Survived by her son Rick (Luann) Smith of Cherry Valley, brother Jim (Barbara) Brown of Lemont, IL, mother Elnora Hackerd of Belvidere, granddaughters Dr. Melissa (Eric) Smith of Tenn, Tina (Eric) Ullman and Kim (Jason) Brown both of Rockford; great-granddaughters Alexis, Maddelyn and Jolyn, step-grandchildren Amy, Jeremy, Brody and Sheridan, step-great-grandchildren Cody and Hanna. Predeceased by her father, husband, and daughters Debbie Thorne and Sandy Smith.
