Nicholas S. Ellwanger, 26, of Belvidere, IL passed away unexpectedly, Monday, January 23, 2017 in his home.  Nicholas was born January 21, 1991 in Rockford, IL the son of Scott A. and Tammy R. (Ashens) Ellwanger.  Nicholas was working for Exterior Cleaning Service, Inc.; a job he loved and a boss, Ron, whom he admired.  In his youth he enjoyed playing hockey, baseball, bowling and basketball.

Nicholas is loved and will be missed by his parents, Tammy Ellwanger of Belvidere, Scott Ellwanger of Rockford; children, Isabella Ellwanger, Lincoln Ellwanger and his mother, Gretchen Helmer; half-sister, Alie Loveridge; Grandparents, Patricia (Jerry) Jones of Chattanooga, TN, Eugene Ellwanger of Cherry Valley, IL; Aunts and Uncles, Tony (Pamela) Ashens of Caledonia, Kellie (Toby) Luxton of Davis Junction, Debbie (Randy) Fletcher of Rockford; and  his cousins.  Nicholas is preceded in death by his grandfather, Tony Ashens and grandmothers, Janice Ellwanger and, Eleanor "Ellie" Ellwanger.

Visitation for Nicholas will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 28, 2017 in Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Avenue, Belvidere, IL with funeral services at 3:00 p.m.
