Neva M. Holtfreter, 94, of Belvidere, died Friday February 3, 2006 at O.S.F. St. Anthony Medical Center. She was born July 12, 1911 in Capron, IL. the daughter of Gulic and Mable (Anderson) Georgeson. She attended schools in Belvidere and graduated from Belvidere High School class of 1930. She married George A. Holtfreter on September 17, 1935 in Rockford, IL. Neva was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, a member of the Belvidere Moose Club. She loved to bake, cook and grow flowers in her garden. When you walked into her house there was always the smell of fresh baked bread, caramel rolls, cakes, cookies, donuts, wild duck with prune dressing and other wild game. She was a very compassionate person and was always there when you needed her. She maintained her sense of humor right up to the end. Mom, you will be greatly missed by all of us.She is survived by sons: Richard (Sharon)Holtfreter of Rockford, Robert (Judy) Holtfreter of Yakima, Wa., Gary (Sharon L.) Holtfreter of Belvidere, grandchildren: Greg, Mark, Kristy, Kelby, Kerry, Rob, Julia, Jamie, Jeff, Sherie, step-grandchildren: Kai, Erika, Dennis, Penny, Kathy, great-grandchildren: Ian, Adler, Nick, Ryeley, Issabella, Stephanie, Shane, step-great-grandchild: Kia, sisters: Ruth Burnett, Helen Juris, and Iva Maitland.She is predeceased by her husband George, daughter Sandy Folkerts, son-in-law Denny Folkerts, and step great-grandchild Keaton.
