Neva Mae Babcock, 67, of Garden Prairie, Illinois, died Tuesday, December 30, 2008 in her home following complications from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. Born April 25, 1941 in Belvidere, the daughter of Merritt H. and Helen M. (Swezey) Watkins. Married to Oscar Hauser, they later divorced. She then married Richard B. Babcock in Rockford on August 11, 1978. She was the Fleet Administrator for Sundstrand Corp. from 1961 to 1992. A member of First Assembly of God, Rockford. A former member of the Winnebago-Boone Co. Genealogical Society and Northern Illinois Arabian Horse Association. She loved to breed and raise Arabian Horses. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading books, Photography and Genealogy. She is survived by her husband, "Dick" Babcock of Garden Prairie; two children, Elaine (Greg) Treu, rural Boone Co. and Jeremy Babcock, Garden Prairie; three grandchildren, Marissa (Scott) Johnson, Brent (Danielle) Treu and Alexandra Treu; a great granddaughter, Olivia Johnson and one expected in June 2009; two sisters, Doris (Howard) Zimmer and Arlene (Pierre) Outzen both of Belvidere; First husband and father to Elaine, Oscar Hauser.
