IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nettie Mae
Carrier
September 6, 1935 – November 29, 2025
Nettie Mae Carrier, 90, of Belvidere, IL, went to be with the Lord on November 29, 2025. She was born on September 6, 1935, to Raymond and Mary Bellows. On February 14, 1958, she married the love of her life, Paul Carrier. Together they shared 59 years of marriage and were blessed with three children.
Nettie was a longtime member of IL Park Chapel Church in Elgin, where she served as the Sunday School choir teacher. It was at this church that she met Paul. On their 35th anniversary, Nettie and Paul renewed their vows, celebrating the deep and enduring love they built together.
Nettie had a heart for children and was a devoted mother and grandmother. She spent many years as a driver for Elgin Schools and shared her love of teamwork and spirit by coaching Poms at St. John's and the Elgin Pee Wee Football league.
A talented and creative soul, Nettie was an exceptional sewer who lovingly crafted dance costumes for her children and designed and created the poms and cheer uniforms, special for each dancer.
She enjoyed participating in craft shows and was known for her cherished "Dena Dolls," made in honor of her late granddaughter. Nettie loved sharing creativity with children, setting out sand art tables so they could make something special and feel celebrated.
Nettie also loved to gather people together. She and Paul hosted the family reunion every year, where their home was filled with food, music, bonfires, softball, and memories that will last a lifetime. Family was her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into every moment spent with them. Nettie leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and handmade memories. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her children, Kellie Carrier, Heather Bouton, and Paul Carrier; grandchildren, Samantha, Heidi, and Gina Scaccianoce; and brothers, Bill, Harold, and Beau Bellows. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members she loved dearly. She is welcomed into heaven by her husband, Paul Carrier; granddaughter, Dena Carrier; sister, Mary Allen, and brother, Roger Bellows.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a private family burial to take place at a later date.
