Nancy C. Gustafson (Holtfreter) 89, passed away peacefully August 1st, 2026. She was born on February 17, 1937 to Bill and Gertrude Holtfreter in Belvidere, IL. Nancy married her sweetheart Don (Gussie) Gustafson on August 22, 1958 and they shared 64 years of marriage.

She graduated from Belvidere High School with the class of 1955. She was a car hop at the Wedgewood during her high school years and then worked at Barber Colman for 9 years. She enjoyed a 25 year career in the banking industry where she retired as Assistant Cashier from First of America Bank. She was awarded the Belvidere Chamber of Commerce “Women in the Work Place” award in 1994. She was an avid quilter and a member of the “Stitchin’ Bitches”. If she wasn’t quilting, she was usually found outside working in her flower beds or mowing the lawn. She took great pride in making sure her yard always looked perfect. She was very fortunate to be surrounded by the best group of neighbors.

Nancy will be missed by her son, Scott (Cindy), granddaughter, Tanya Walker, grandson, Casey (Erin), great grandchildren, Morgan and Max, sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Bill Wascher, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Gussie and her parents Bill and Gertrude.

A visitation for Nancy will be Saturday, August 8th from 9:30-11am with the funeral to follow at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services. Located at 218 W. Hurlbut, Belvidere IL 61008
