Obituary

Nancy I. Anderson, 74, of Belvidere, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on March 13, 2026. She was born on August 18, 1951, in Dowagiac, Michigan, the daughter of Betty and Tommy Snider.

On August 29, 1970, she married the love of her life, Les Anderson, who first caught her attention with his ’55 Chevy. Together they built a life filled with love, raising two children and sharing 55 wonderful years of marriage.

Nancy and Les instilled in their family a deep appreciation for nature, the mountains, and a spirit of adventure. They were active members of several car clubs and spent a lot of time together at the drag strip.

Nancy was a deeply devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked a variety of jobs throughout her life, from factory and manufacturing work to teaching spin classes at her daughter’s gym. She was truly multifaceted individual with a multitude of skills and interests.

Known for her quirky personality, Nancy was often the life of any party. She was kind, funny, and had a heart of gold. She had a deep appreciation for Frank Lloyd Wright’s architecture and a lifelong love of rock and roll. Creative and curious, Nancy even taught herself calligraphy. She also had a deep connection and appreciation of her Native American heritage.

She was also a talented cook whose creativity truly shined in the kitchen. Nancy had a special gift for baking and cake decorating, delighting family and friends with both the beauty and taste of her creations. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her husband Les Anderson; their children, Angela Lynn Jordan, and Kristofor Wayne Anderson; granddaughter, Jaedin; great grandson, Ryker; brother, Rich Snider, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members and close friends she loved dearly.

She is predeceased by her parents, Betty and Tommy Snider; as well as brother, Bob Snider.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
