Belvidere, IL

Myrna E. Watts, 100, of Belvidere, passed away peacefully, Monday evening, July 11, 2016 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Myrna was born September 7, 1915 in Manchester Township, IL, daughter of James G. and Lillian (Burkman) Watts. She graduated from Belvidere High School, Class of 1933, where she was one of the first recipients of the Funderburg award. Myrna was employed by Warner Lambert Co. as an executive secretary. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, and a former member of the Soroptimist International of Rockford, and the Oak Glen Grange. Myrna was an excellent photographer, enjoyed knitting and making peanut brittle. She was an avid reader and a fan of the Chicago Cubs.

Myrna is loved and missed by her sister, Edith Watts; nieces and nephews, Donna Rubeck, James Crawford, Barbara Laitin, Myrna Joyce Struebin, Joanne Bernasek, Jean Rosch, Ian Watts, Ruth Ann Rooks, Frances Drewes, Robert Blake, and Mary Ellen Neumueller, as well as numerous great nieces and great nephews, and other relatives. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Crawford, Ruth Watts, and Elizabeth Blake; brothers, Chester Watts, and Kenton Watts; and nephews, Gary Blake and Jerry Prugh.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008 with Rev. Allan Buss officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Friday, July 15, 2016 at the funeral home, as well as from 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 16 until the time of service.  Burial in Livingston Cemetery.
