Murwin Stevens, 80, of Belvidere, Illinois died peacefully on March 9, 2018 at Park Place Nursing Home in Belvidere. He was born on October 3, 1937 in Pleasant Grove, Minnesota to David and Neva (McAlister) Stevens. He attended school in Austin, Minnesota.

Murwin worked for thirty years at Chrysler and retired in 1996. He proudly served in the Army between 1960 and 1962. He was a member of the UAW local 1268.

Murwin is survived by his brothers, Walter (Sara) Stevens of Kasson, Minnesota and Edwin (Sharon) Stevens of Belvidere;  sisters, Mary Ellen Stevens and Betty (Larry) Schewe of Austin, Minnesota; and eight nieces and nephews and their children.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother and sister- in-law, Wilbur and Judy Stevens, formerly of Beloit, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Avenue, Belvidere, Illinois with Paul McAlister of Rochester, Minnesota officiating. Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until the time of service, Saturday , March 17, 2018 at the funeral home.
