Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and devoted friend to allMildred A. (Butz) Heshelman Mildred A. Heshelman 87, of Janesville, and formerly of Belvidere, passed away in Cedar Crest nursing home Friday September 1. Mildred was born February 16, 1919 in Hampshire IL the daughter of George and Mary (Herrmann) Butz. She graduated from Belvidere High School and later married the love of her life Glen Heshelman September 1st, 1940 in Belvidere. She worked at The Bottle Cap Company, and also at Belvidere Products in the upholstery department until retiring in 1966. Mildred was a member of First United Methodist Church in Belvidere. Mildred was a devoted wife and mother who loved spending time with her family. She also spent a lot of her time reading novels and crocheting. She loved to go out to eat and also walking for exercise. Mildred loved to garden and always had a yard full of beautiful flowers. She also spent time feeding the birds and a squirrel who would scratch the back door until it got a cookie. Her love and devotion to family and friends will be forever missed. Survivors include children; Richard (Marilyn) Heshelman, and Gerald Heshelman, grandchildren; Curtis Heshelman, Erica Heshelman, and Kimberly (Jason) Rateike, great grandchildren; Tyler and Ryan Rateike, sisters; Dorothy (Lawrence) Knudson, Garnet Roland, sisters-in-laws; Emma Butz, Ruby Butz, brother-in-law; Art Peterson, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mildred is preceded in death by her husband, parents, 5 brothers, and 6 sisters. Services will be held Wednesday September 6 at 11:00 a.m. in First United Methodist Church with Reverend Joy Starwalt officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mildred's name to First Untitled Methodist Church of Belvidere. Arrangements made by Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home.
