Michael James Wensky, 53, of Belvidere, IL, died with his mother by his side, Friday, December 11, 2015 from complications of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on October 20, 1993. Michael was born April 18, 1962 in Belvidere, IL, son of Robert and Jeannine (Carlson) Wensky. He graduated from Belvidere High School in 1981. Michael enjoyed NASCAR, therapeutic horseback riding, family vacations and gatherings.

Michael  is loved and will be missed by his mother, Jeannine Wensky; brother and sisters, Denise (Bob) Hauser, David (Kelli) Wensky, Michelle (Mike) Dixon; grandmother, Marjorie Carlson; aunts , Lana Carlson, Joanne Wensky, Joanne (Wayne) Kruger; nieces and nephews , Nathan (Amber) Hauser, Logan Wensky, Erin (Cody) Laseman, Alex Larrabee, Ethan Hauser, Parker Wensky, Dawson Wensky, Chelsey Dixon; good friends, Paul Burnell, Ed Downey, The Headlines Brain Injury Support Group, and his friends at BRAVEHEARTS Therapeutic Riding and Educational Center. Michael is preceded in death by his father Bob; uncle, Art L. Wensky; paternal grandparents, Arthur A. and Josephine M. (Vavrinek) Wensky; maternal grandfather, Chester Carlson.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., December 17, 2015 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008 with Pastor Cory Whitford officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m., December 16, 2015 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be given to the Bravehearts Therapeutic Riding.
