Belvidere, ILMichael R. McCollom, 60, of Belvidere, IL died Wednesday morning, September 19, 2012 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center after a short illness. Michael was born October 5, 1951 in Charleston, MO the son of Herbert and Lorene (McKinney) McCollom. Michael retired from the Chrysler Corporation after 35 years of service in 2005. He was a member of the U.A.W., enjoyed fishing, camping and being outside; and was an avid Chicago Bears fan. Michael also served our country in the US Army Reserve.Survivors include his children Trisha L. McCollom, Steven R. (Angela) McCollom and Christopher M. McCollom all of Belvidere; grandchildren Steven, Thomas, Anthony and Dylan; great granddaughter Arianna; sister Mildred (Frank) Mumford of Mt. Morris; brothers Jerry of Machesney Park, Thomas (Sue) of Mendota, David (Jody) of Arkansas, John (Debra) of Dixon, Fred of Rochelle, Jim of Indiana; numerous nieces and nephews. Michael is predeceased by his parents and brother Charles.
