Michael P. McCarthy, 49, of Poplar Grove, Illinois, passed away suddenly at his home in Poplar Grove on September 5, 2018. Born November 3, 1968, the son of Donn and Linda (Liesenfelder) McCarthy. Michael was a graduate of Harlem High School in Machesney Park. He was in the Army National Guard and later worked at Chrysler for many years, where he was a member of UAW, local 1268, for 25 years. Michael was a fan of the Packers as well as the Cubs and loved to ride Harleys.

Michael is loved and will be dearly missed by his son, Connor McCarthy; step-daughter, Brittany; father, Donn (Mary-Kay) McCarthy; twin brother, Brendan (Nancy) McCarthy; brother, Brian (Stacey) McCarthy; sister, Carolyn (Michael) McCarthy-Reckard; 3 granddaughters; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends Phil, Fran, Dawn, Matt, and Mike.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Linda, and his brother, Sean Thomas McCarthy.

A memorial gathering will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL.
